Despite being a small island, Madeira has many beautiful sites to visit, even if you are not there for the first time.
While some locations are more concealed than others, even those that are right in the open are always evolving and providing fresh discoveries. Câmara de Lobos is one of those examples, a charming tiny city on the island's south coast with one of the most picturesque bays you will ever see, serves as an excellent illustration of this.
The city center's narrow alleyways, outlook over the bay, and other historic elements remain charming despite the passage of time and numerous changes. Locals, fisherman, and some newcomers can all be found there walking around and discovering every new detail.
When you visit Câmara de Lobos have a meal at Mercearia Minerva or Gavião do Ilhéu (among others). Also don´t miss a poncha -the madeira traditional beverage – at one of the many bars you will find.
After dinner go up to Jardim do Ilhéu and enjoy the beautiful sunset.
