As the clock strikes midnight and the world eagerly welcomes another year, few places can match the sheer enchantment of celebrating New Year's on the picturesque island of Madeira. Nestled in the Atlantic Ocean, Madeira, and its capital city Funchal, have gained international acclaim for hosting one of the most dazzling and memorable New Year's Eve celebrations.
Ocean front Holiday Villas in the old town of Funchal
Explore the charm of Funchal's historic waterfront with a stay at Funchal Seaside Villas. Nestled in the heart of the old town, our family-owned property offers a unique experience with 4 distinct rental villas, complementing the main house where you may occasionally find us and meet my father, Carlos, who takes delight in sharing stories about our property and the rich history of our family.
Originally acquired by my grandfather, Celestino, the visionary patriarch of our family, this oceanfront property was a bold choice, met with skepticism from many who considered him eccentric for settling in the old town. However, with his keen business acumen, he foresaw the transformation of this area into the city's most desirable locale. Grandfather Celestino's foresight has indeed proven to be a wise decision, and we owe him our gratitude.
Each of our villas pays homage to the strong women who have shaped our family. The names Irlanda (my grandmother and Celestino's wife), Isabel (my mother), and Eufemia (my mother-in-law) symbolize the enduring strength and influence of these remarkable women. Their exemplary lives serve as an inspiration, and our villas stand as a humble tribute to their legacy.
Finally, our latest addition is the Plantations Villa, a poignant representation of the decades-long toil on the land that has defined the essence of our property. This villa stands as a tribute to the enduring legacy of hard work and dedication that has shaped the very fabric of our family history.

“Luxury Villa with everything you need: nearby sea, beach, infinity pool, banana tree terrace, big house... and in our opinion the best view on the whole island. Eg. Sunrises and sunsets are beautiful here. 10-15 minutes walk to Old city restaurant street. This must be one of the best places to stay in Funchal. Not so many places are located next to sea and still have big yard. Great value overall.”
